Abbie Lou Falkner Abbie Lou Stripling Falkner, 84, of Columbus, MS passed away, Sunday, December 30, 2012 at her residence. Visitation for Mrs. Falkner will be Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS a funeral service followed at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jacob Elliott officiating. Interment will be in Springhill Cemetery, Millport, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Falkner was born October 5, 1928 in Lamar Co., AL to the late Johnny Herman & Erneter Atkins Stripling. She moved to Columbus in 1953 and worked as a seamstress at Seminole until she retired in 1960. Mrs. Falkner was a member of Springhill Baptist Church; she enjoyed working outside in her flower garden and green house and loved animals. Mrs. Falkner is survived by her husband – Gene Falkner, Columbus, MS, brother – Rave Nell (Patsy) Stripling, Vernon, AL, sister – Sharon Morrison, Vernon, AL, 1 nephew, 2 nieces, 5 great nephews and 3 great nieces. Pallbearers will be Albert Sanders, Albert Humber, Shane Sanders, Vince Sanders, Micah Elliot and Trevor Elliott. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Elliott, Buddy Spencer, William Bell, William Preston Self, John Oswalt, Hershel Gallop, Bo Jarrett, James Cole and All relatives and friends from years past.
