Alan S. Thompson, 64 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, February 11, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS.

Mr. Thompson was born November 4, 1957, in South Haven, MI to the late Hunter C. and Betty Nell Cobb Thompson.  He moved to Columbus 40 years ago from Vernon, AL.  Mr. Thompson was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. He retired in 2021 from Nouryron (formerly) Eka Nobel after 25 ½ years as a Process Technician.  Mr. Thompson enjoyed playing golf, Nascar racing, playing softball, racquetball, and working out.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife Cynthia Thompson, Columbus, MS; brothers – Charles Ellis (Shae) Thompson, Vernon, AL, and Hunter Dale (Vanessa) Thompson, Buttahatchie, MS; sister-in-law – Lesia (Mike) Lamb, Tupelo, MS; brother-in-law – Larry (Doreen) Mims, Columbus, MS; nieces – Blair (Ben) Curtis, Katie Thompson and Morgan Lamb; nephews – Bo Ferguson; Justin Thompson, Ethan Thompson, Corey Thompson, and Drew Lamb; great-nieces – Mary Bishop Curtis and Livingston Curtis; Great-nephews – Hewitt Curtis and Tyson Anglin.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Billingsley, Jackson Billingsley, Chris Crawford, Lance Holder, Tony Carr, and William Eaves; honorary pallbearers will be Current and former employees of Nouryon, Dr. Reddy, Dr. Brad Brown, Dr. Eric McLendon, Dr. James Woodard, and Mr. Thompson's golfing friends.
