Obituary

Albert Darrell Haynes Albert Darrell Haynes, 68, of Columbus, MS went home to Heaven on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS. Visitation was Sunday, February 19, 2012, at Lowndes Funeral home from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services were Monday, February 20, 2012 at one of the dearest places in his heart, Community Baptist Church in Columbus, at 11:00 am, with Bro. Wes Jones officiating, and Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Haynes was born on August 18, 1943 in Parsons, TN to the late Mr. Albert Ray Haynes and Mrs. Lorene Quinn Haynes, both of Parsons, TN. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force from March 6, 1962 to 1966, which brought him to Columbus 50 years ago. In 1986, he retired after 20 years of service to the City of Columbus Fire Department. In June of 2011, he also retired after 32 years of service with Lab Corp of America. He was a devoted husband for 49 years, a loving father, and a wonderful grandfather to his beloved grandchildren. He was a charter member of Community Baptist Church where he lovingly served as a Deacon, a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years, and a joyful member of the choir. He loved and served the Lord in many areas and had a constant hunger to study His word. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, camping, or fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death in death by his brother, Larry Haynes of Parsons, TN, and his mother in law, Susie Cagle of Parsons, TN. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carolyn Cagle Haynes, Columbus, MS, his daughters, Lisa (David) Silas of Spring Hill, TN, Kim (Shane) Glasgow and Paula Britt both of Columbus, MS. He is also survived by his 3 precious grandchildren, Jeffery Silas, Whitney Glasgow, and Ethan Britt. He is also survived by his brother, Harold G. (Karen) Haynes of Franklin, TN. Pallbearers will be Chess Moore, Jr., Dale Hardin, Bill Delk, Bob Moore, Rance House, Jim Spencer, Chris Atkins and Luke Rhinewalt.
