Amanda Sargent McCarty, 45, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016, at UAB Hospital, Birmingham, AL.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 26, 2016, from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at 2:00PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Al Hamm officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mrs. McCarty was born August 26, 1970, in Amory, MS to Phillip Dale and Patricia Faye Little Sargent. She was a member of Victory Freewill Baptist Church, Columbus, MS and has lived in the Columbus area for 25 and a half years. Mrs. McCarty was employed by Victory Christian Academy as a cafeteria worker. She graduated from Smithville High School in 1988. Mrs. McCarty loved spending time with her family, especially her children.

Mrs. McCarty is survived by her husband – David McCarty, Columbus, MS; children – Brittany McCarty, Nathan McCarty, Gabriel McCarty, and Jacob McCarty, all of Columbus, MS; parents – Phillip and Faye Sargent, Amory, MS; sisters – Rachel (Sam) Mitchell and Leslie Sargent, both of Amory, MS.

Pallbearers will be Alex Sargent, Dale Ballard, Jim McCarty, Brian Jenkins, Dennis Collum, and Michael Shelton. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Victory Christian Academy.
