Annie Kate Lofton, age 85, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 2:30 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Bro. Steve Brown officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Lofton was born on April 3, 1933, in Bay Springs, MS to the late Floyd F. and Idell Sumerall. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Lofton worked as a statement clerk at First National Bank of Alaska. She traveled by her husband's side as a military wife as he served his duties to his country. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lofton was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.

Mrs. Lofton is survived by her husband- Roy Lofton of Steens, MS; daughters- Janice (David) Wood of Steens, MS, and Deborah "Debbie" Ann (Michael) Olexa, AK; grandchildren- Patrick (Amanda) Post, Kasie Wood, and Travis Olexa; great-grandchildren- Braden Post, Ava Post, and Charlotte Post.
