Annie Miriam Coward Annie Miriam Pool Coward, 99, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation was held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 1 - 3 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 3 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Bro. Mickey Dalrymple officiating and Bro. Sammy Crawford and Bro. Tommy Gillon assisting. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Coward was born September 19, 1912 in Lowndes County to the late Lura Sharp Pool and Robert Buran Pool. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, the Ruth Sunday School class, the Prime Timers, and the Prime Timers Choir, as well as the Ladies Aid of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Coward was a graduate of S.D. Lee High School. She retired from Seminole Manufacturing Company as a sample inspector with over 30 years of service. Mrs. Coward was married to the late James Hollis Coward. They had one daughter, Elizabeth Coward Duncan, deceased. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Wilda Pool Ford, and her brothers, Robert Sharpe Pool, J.C. Pool, and Marshall Pool. Mrs. Coward is survived by two granddaughters, Barbara Elaine (Danny) Robertson of Rolling Fork, MS and Beverly Kay (Steve) Delk of Columbus, MS, four great grandchildren, Jamie Michelle Pierce and Ashley Brooke Pierce of Columbus, MS, Daniel Eugene Robertson of Brandon, MS and Kimberly Gail Robertson of Rolling Fork, MS, numerous great, great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Donald Pool, Robert Pool, Jason Pool, Greg Clark, Ray Hydrick, and Bobby Barksdale. Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Prime Timers and Prime Timers Choir, Ralph Pool, Henry Donner, Davis Baker, J.W. Dodson, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Buckner, Mrs. Wallis Davidson, Dr. James Woodard, Dr. John P. Whitecar, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Archie Moore, Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Rector, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Cook, Mrs. Pauline Oglesby, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Dunaway, and the staff of Trinity Place.
