Arnold Lewis Weathers, 89 of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Windsor Place, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 10, 2019, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Gillion officiating and Bro. Kevin Jenkins assisting.  Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Weathers was born November 20, 1929, in Columbus, MS to the late John Murphy and Dewey Mae Lollar Weathers.  He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a Staff Sgt in the communication division.  Mr. Weathers was the former owner of Weathers Electric and worked as maintenance/construction coordinator at Kerr McGee in their forest products division.  He served on the City of Columbus Utility Board and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS.  Mr. Weathers was a loving and faithful husband, and a dependable father and grandfather. He loved hunting and fishing, was hardworking and enjoyed listening to gospel music. In addition to his parents, Mr. Weathers was preceded in death by his brother – John Edward Weathers and grandchild – Jeremy Alexander.

Mr. Weathers is survived by his wife of 68 years  - Connie Goodman Weathers, Columbus, MS; Daughters – Paula Webb and Joni (Jerry) Alexander; Son – Larry (Donna) Weathers; grandchildren – Jillian Alexander, Mark A. Weathers (Carol), Brian Weathers, Laura Lee (Michael), and Daniel Sigrest (Rachel) and great-grandchildren – Rosemary Alexander, Allee Kate Weathers, Caroline Lee, Trevor Lee and Peyton Lee.

Pallbearers will be Gary Weathers, Dan Weathers, Mark A. Weathers, Brian Weathers, Daniel Sigrest and Jerry Alexander.  Honorary pallbearers will be John Wierengo Sunday School Class at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS.
