Arvie Milton McGregor, 87, of Columbus, passed away on Thursday, April 04, 2019, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 from 2-4pm at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus
Mr. McGregor was born April 10, 1931 in Pontotoc, MS, to the late Wesley and Alcie McGregor. He was a Baptist by faith and served his country while enlisted in the United States Army. Mr. McGregor was self-employed most of his life where he always worked in sales and service related fields he also owned several restaurants over the years. He took pride in being "Thrifty", and loved his family dearly, he enjoyed camping, playing various card games, including Rook and visiting with friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Glenn McGregor, one infant great grandson and his brother in law Gabe Valdez.
He is survived by his children: Sherry (Tom) McGregor-McKessy of Collierville, TN, and Sonja (Dee) Harris, Scott (Teresa) McGregor and Shane (Shannon) McGregor, all of Columbus; two former wives Jamye McGregor and Earnestine McGregor, sister, Margie Valdez of Albuquerque, NM, grandchildren; Ryan McKessy, Billy (Lindsey) McKessy, Amber (Andrew) Long, Afton (Preston) Rushing, Luke (Jenifer) Cooper, Scott (Erin) Cooper, Bridget Shaw (Lucas Harris), Sarah (Matt) Eaves, Mary Jane, Kaden, Eliza, Millie and Tabitha Cate McGregor, and twenty-one great grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their most heartfelt thanks and appreciation for their Friends, along with the Residents and Staff of Trinity Place Retirement Community for all of the love and support, food and words of encouragement during this time.
