Ashton Bryant Hammett had his final #1 Victory Royale as he moved on from his life's journey and met with our Lord on February 12, 2020. He was a lifelong resident of Belle Chasse, La. until 2017 when his family moved to Columbus, Ms.
He was a brave warrior who fought Transitional Hepatoblastoma, a rare liver cancer, since he was 9 years old. Ashton was wise and insightful beyond his years. Regardless of his battle, his selfless, generous heart and his comedic personality remained steadfast. He was a creative artist who loved sculpting and drawing. He loved to dance and sing. He was passionate about his gaming and truly loved his gaming buddies. His love for others and spirit were just immeasurable. To meet Ashton, was to instantly know someone who was special and everyone's Best Friend. His Light Burned too brightly for this world.
He is survived by his parents, Marissa Menendez and Daniel Hammett; sister- Tristan Renee Hammett; grandparents- Enith Menendez and Donald and Cleo Hammett; aunts- Jackie Hammett, Andrea Alexander, Linda Hammett, Brenda Hammett, and Glenda (Marion) Stevens; uncles- Morris (Rae-Lyn) Hammett, Donald(Amy) Hammett, Jr., and Darrin Cotton; cousins- Shelby Hammett, Jacie-Rae Hammett, Davin Savoy, Jade Hammett, Brittany Alexander, Abby Alexander, Zachary Alexander, and Andrew Whittikki; and many other beloved family and friends.
He is preceded in his heavenly departure by his grandfather, Michael Menendez; cousins- Madison Branton, Jordan Beckham, and many other family and friends.
We will have a "Sending Off A SuperHero Celebration" next month. Specifics will be released soon. In the meantime get your Super Hero or Comic Book Character Costumes ready, warm up on your Karaoke songs and dance moves because it will be a party Ashton style.
In lieu of flowers, please support No One Fights Alone Nola @ www.noonefightsalonenola.org , the B+Foundation @bepositive.org, Live Like Bella @ livelikebella.org. These organizations provide incredible support to cancer families. Please also consider supporting The American Transplant Foundation @ americantransplantfoundation.org. Without this gift of love, we would not have had the last 2 years with our angel. In Ashton's words when you are helping others in need, "It's an act of God."
