Atlas Alene Pridmore Boyer, 87, formerly of Columbus, MS, died Saturday, January 23, 2021, in Oneonta, AL.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Beersheba Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim Lee officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Atlas was born on November 18, 1933, in Pickens County, AL to the late Noland and Annie Pearl Hughes Pridmore.  She graduated from New Hope High School, Columbus, MS, and married Charles Murphy Gildon. They had two sons, Charles Jerome Gildon and Glenn Burton Gildon.

Atlas held many jobs including bookkeeper and seamstress, she worked at the MUW snack bar (The Goose) and did monogramming for the Uniform Center in her later years. Atlas was twice widowed by Tom Bunting in 1986 and Charles Boyer in 2004.  She was preceded in death by her son Charles (Jerry) Gildon; brother Hughes Preston Pridmore; and sisters, Lorene P. Thrasher and Annie Ruth Ponds.

She is survived by her brother James Hubert Pridmore (Mary), son Glenn Burton Gildon, grandson Jeb Gildon (Brooke) daughter in law Terre Gildon (Jerry); grandchildren Myndall G. Delcamp (Dennis); Alyson G. Irby (Adam), and Jordan Taylor Gildon (Megan). Great-grand children Ella and Elijah Delcamp, Zayne and Wyatt Irby, and Glenn Gildon.
