Barbara Dean Bobitt Jaynes, 77 passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Central Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS from complications of renal disease. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 8, 2014, 1:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Ray, officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Ms Jaynes was born August 17, 1936 to the late Lee Roy and Oma Loye Baker Bobitt and graduated from New Hope High School in 1955. Ms Jaynes retired in 2004 from Classic Cuts Beauty Salon where she was a cosmetologist for 35 years. She had been a longtime resident of Columbus, MS and was a member of Clinton Church of Christ in Clinton, MS. Ms Jaynes enjoyed needlepoint, cooking, watching The Food Channel, peacocks and anything purple. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Oma Baker Bobitt, the father of her children - Thomas Jaynes, brother - James Bobitt, sisters - Dahra and Laura Bobitt. Ms Jaynes is survived by 4 daughters - Clarissa Watson, Byram, MS, Linda McCall, Arlington, TN, Gail (Bill) Black, Millport, AL and Karen Duncan, Byram, MS, grandchildren - Blake and Matt Watson, Mark and Charlie Hanson, Christopher Black, Jason and Laura Duncan and 5 great-grandchildren, brother - Keith (Gloria) Bobitt, Birmingham, AL, sisters - Joyce (Don) Miller, Columbus, MS and Cleta (Aubrey) Collums, Marks, MS; a host of nieces and nephews; special family friend - Donna Taylor. She is also survived by her pet poodle - Teddy. Pallbearers will be Lane Bobitt, Jason Duncan, Chip Miller, Aubrey Collums, Jeff Abrams and Don Davis; honorary pallbearers will be Blake Watson, Matt Watson, Don Miller, Randy Abrams and Christopher Black, Frank Bobitt, Mark Hanson and Charlie Hanson.
