Barbara Jane Kirkland, 82, of Steens, MS passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 2, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Chapel with Bro. Mitch McWilliams officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery, Millport, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Kirkland was born April 9, 1939, in Louisville, KY to the late Mildred Pellman Stewart and Redd Stewart. She was an office manager at Sears for many years. Mrs. Kirkland was artistic and enjoyed singing. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church for many years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kirkland is preceded in death by her husband- Garland Kirkland; sons-Gregory Kirkland, and Kevin Kirkland; daughter-Cheryl Kirkland Beard; brothers- Stephen McGrew, and Elmer McGrew; and sister- Joann Smith.

Mrs. Kirkland is survived by her daughters- Debra Whitney, and Donna Osborne; son- David Kirkland; grandchildren- Crystal Sessum, Josh Adams, Kirk Adams, Justin Kirkland, Corey Kirkland, Jimmy Osborne, Katie Osborne, Amy Kirkland, Adam Whitney, Matthew Kirkland, Jordan Mitchell, and Kaitlyn Kirkland; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister- Janet McGrew.

Pallbearers will be Kirk Adams, Josh Adams, Justin Kirkland, Jordan Mitchell, Matt Kirkland, and Adam Whitney.
