Barbara Morrison Barbara Miller Morrison, 67 of Caledonia, MS passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Friday, June 1, 2012 from 1 - 3 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Friday, June 1, 2012 at 3 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating. Interment will be Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Morrison was born May 14, 1945 in Maryville, TN to the late Troy and Hazel Tucker Miller. She was a resident of Lowndes County, MS for the past 30 years having moved from Tellico Plains, TN. Mrs. Morrison was Director of Animal Care for Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary, Caledonia, MS for the past eight years. She was a member of Poplar Bluff Baptist Church, Tellico Plains, TN. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morrison is preceded in death by her husband - Johnny Mack Morrison. Mrs. Morrison is survived by her sons - Kenneth Glenn (Stephanie Farrar) Akins, Sr, Columbus, MS; Richard Dwaine Akins, Caledonia, MS; daughter - Deborah Akins (Gary) Reeves, Caledonia, MS; sisters - Betty (Glen) Howell, Chatsworth, GA; Katie (Amos) Moses, Cleveland, TN; brother - R.L. (Betty Jo) Tucker, Benton, TN; and grandchildren - Kenneth Glenn Akins, Jr., Mary Claire Akins, and Abby Ruth Akins. Pallbearers will be Charlie Farrar, Stephen Farrar, Alton Reeves, Michael Crosby, Erik Howell, and Derrik Howell.
