Beatrice W. DeSmidt, 67, of Caledonia, MS, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Vineyard Court Nursing Center in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Monday, March 3, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Monday, March 3, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Interment will follow at Egger Cemetery, in Caledonia, MS. Lowndes Funeral Home will be directing.

Mrs. Bea was born November 1, 1957, in Americus, Georgia, to the late Richard Herrick and Lou Landrum Herrick. She worked as a grocery bagger for many years. Mrs. Bea loved her dogs- Zippy, Bandit, Rocks, and her birds. She had many outdoor animals as well. Mrs. Bea was an avid Alabama fan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bea was preceded in death by her brother- John Herrick.

Mrs. Bea is survived by her sons- Curtis (Philesa) DeSmidt, and Robby (Chasity) DeSmidt; grandchildren- Jonathan DeSmidt, Bre DeSmidt, Tyler DeSmidt, Lakelan DeSmidt, Kyleigh Polk; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Curtis DeSmidt, Jonathan DeSmidt, Bre DeSmidt, Tyler DeSmidt, and Lakelan DeSmidt.
