Benjamin Lee Dowdy, 29, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015. Visitation will be Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be Friday, February 6, 2015 at 2PM at Vibrant Church, Columbus, MS with Pastor Ron Delgado officiating. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Dowdy was born March 11, 1985 to Rodney and Carol Dowdy in Columbus, MS. He attended Vibrant Church in Columbus, MS. Benjamin was his daddy's "First Little Buddy" and ALL the Dowdy boys were full of mischiefnone more so than Benjamin. Benjamin loved to spoil his niece, Sophie, and he was her favorite uncle. Sophie never went home without a gift from her Uncle Benjamin. He always reminded his mom "I'm Your #1". He made sure the last thing he said to everyone in his family was "I love you.'' He loved all his family and friends deeply, but the love of his life was his wife, Jennifer. She was his everything. She was all the beautiful things he'd ever wanted, wished for and dreamt of. Benjamin loved all things fasthis motorcycle, his Mustang and his daddy's BMW. Ride fast. Ride hard. Rest easy. Mr. Dowdy is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather Dorman Dowdy and Maternal Grandfather Floyd Chenney. Mr. Dowdy is survived by his wife- Jennifer Tucker Dowdy, Columbus, MS; mother- Carol Dowdy, Columbus, MS; father- Rodney Dowdy, Columbus, MS; brothers- Michael Dowdy, Columbus, MS, Matthew Dowdy, Columbus, MS, Nicholas Dowdy, Southaven, MS; paternal grandmother- Virginia Dowdy; maternal grandmother- Ann Chenney; and niece- Sophie Dowdy. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Dowdy, Michael Dowdy, Matthew Dowdy, Justin Brown, Robert Tucker and Rodney Dowdy.
