Bertha Beatrice "Bea" Covert 93, from Columbus, MS passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at her residence.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church in Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Father Jeffrey Waldrep officiating. Interment will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mrs. Covert was born July 16, 1929, in Lauderdale, MS to the late John Allen and Lydia Barrett Allen. Mrs. Covert graduated in 1947 with honors from Dixie High School in Lauderdale County, MS. She was a dedicated wife to her husband for over 50 years, an unbelievable mother to her 7 children, and a loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved quilting by hand, was a wonderful cook, was an incredible seamstress, and enjoyed reading. Mrs. Covert was a die-hard Mississippi State Fan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Covert is preceded in death by her husband- Louis Covert; sisters- Marie Hamilton, Nell Huff and brother – Melvin Allen.

Mrs. Covert is survived by her daughters-  Pam Knight, Cheryl (Hamp) Williams, Cindy (Squirrel) Morgan, and Libby (Rick) Walker; son- Louis (Teecie) Covert; John (Nancy) Covert, and Mike Covert; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and sister in law- Virgina Buchanon.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Knight, Ricky Knight, Reese Williams, Joe Morgan, Jason Morgan, and Zach Parchman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryce Covert, Hayden Covert, and Michael McNamara.

Our Mama is finally at rest.
