Betty Faye Hollis Dawkins, 88, of Columbus, MS, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at her residence.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service follow at 11:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Ray officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Columbus, MS.

Mrs. Dawkins was born November 27, 1930 to the late Lillian Corbel and Holder Hollis in Lamar County, AL. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Church in Columbus, MS, where she was a member of Gate Keepers Life Group, Wings Women's Ministry and a part of the OK's (older kids). Mrs. Dawkins had lived in Columbus, MS her entire life and was a restaurant owner of Southern Plantation BBQ. She loved having her home filled with loved ones and had a passion for cooking especially fried apple pies. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband- Hollis Dawkins; son- Paul Dawkins; daughter- Pam Runalls; grandchild- Nathan Dawkins; sisters- Millie Jay, Mary Cantrell, Fannie Murl Hollis; brothers- Bobby Hollis, AC Hollis.

Mrs. Dawkins is survived by her son- Roger Dawkins; daughter- Michelle Dawkins; grandchildren- Chris Brad, David, Denise, Sabrina, Melissa, Lindsey; great-grandchildren- Austell, JJ, Aiden, Elijah, Aaden, Carson, Savanah; sister- Sarah Nordwell; brother- Rex Hollis.

Pallbearers will be Roger Dawkins, Don Arnold, Doug Dawkins, Brandon Hollis, Lynn Dawkins, Adam Hollis, Alan Simons. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Lile, Sammie Suggs, Johnny Bufkin, Jeff Abrams, Bill Quick, Buddy Thrasher, Butch Bell, Doug Blount, Lamar Cagle, Scott Perkins, Larry Terman, Glenn Baldwin, George Baldwin, Tim Hudson, Rex Hollis, Jamie Turner and Gate Keepers at Mt. Vernon Church.
