Betty L. Packard Betty L. Packard, 82 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 6 – 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 25, 2011 at 11 AM at the Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating, Bro. Michael Packard and Bro. Tommy Gillon assisting. Interment will be in Isaac's Cemetery, Kosciusko, MS; Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Packard was born March 11, 1929 in Marion, AR to the late Elisha Fred and Nannie Elizabeth McMillan Carnes. She was a resident of Columbus, MS for the past 42 years having moved from Fairborn, OH. Mrs. Packard was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS and their 55+ group. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, enjoyed painting, crossword puzzles and cake decorating. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Elden Packard. Mrs. Packard is survived by her sons, Michael (Lynn) Packard, Bartlett, TN; Mark (Charlotte) Packard, Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Martha Spain, Southaven, MS; Norma Harris, Fairborn, OH; five grandchildren, Grant Packard, Denea Packard, Justin Packard, Nathanael Packard and Abigail Packard. Pallbearers will be Grant Packard, Nathanael Packard, Justin Packard, Bobby Ward, Adrain Rogers, and Bill Turnage. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of 55+ at Fairview Baptist Church, Fedilas Sunday School Class and Johnny and Bessie Jordan.
