Billie Blanche Thomason Trussell, 86, of Columbus passed away in the early morning on December 25, 2024. Born on January 17, 1938, to Walter Elmo Thomason and Ulma Gertrude Smith Thomason, Billie dedicated her life to serving God and raising her family with unwavering courage, strength, and compassion. A woman of deep faith and steadfast commitment, Billie was an inspiring example to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the values she cherished—faithfulness, resilience, and unconditional love.
Visitation will be Monday, December 30, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, in Columbus, MS. There will be a second visitation on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Bevil Hill Methodist Church in Louisville, MS. Funeral Service will be Monday, December 30, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Bevil Hill Methodist Church in Louisville, MS. Interment will follow at Bevil Hill Cemetery. Lowndes Funeral Home is entrusted with all arrangements.
Billie is preceded in death by her parents, as well as 3 siblings Peggy (Henry) Warren, Willie Joe (Shirley) Thomason, Mary (Doug) Hinson and one great-granddaughter Alisa Nichole Pace. She is survived by siblings Walter (May) Thomason, Bettye (Mark) Meadows, Donnie Sue (George) Foster, and Linda (Johnny) Clardy; Her four children, Jerry (Laurie) Trussell, Billy (Lisa) Trussell, Mitchell Trussell, and June (Tom) Willis; her grandchildren Nichole (Stephen) Pace, April (Jonathan) Byrd, Armendia (Jordan) Cochran, Brittany (Phillip) Brown, Rachel (Zachary) Barnes, and Thomas Willis; as well as a crew of great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Brown, Jordan Cochran, Stephen Pace, Jonathan Byrd, Zack Barnes, and Thomas Willis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dustin Trussell, Nathan Pace, and Ethan Byrd.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in Billie's name to Trinity Place via https://www.mss.org/give-today/ or the American Cancer Society would be deeply appreciated.
