Billy Jack Edmiston, Sr., 94, of Columbus, MS, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, GT in Columbus, MS.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Sunday, December 29, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. at Fairview Baptist Church with Bro. Dan Robertson officiating. The graveside service will be Monday, December 30, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Douglas Cemetery in Ruston, Louisiana.
Mr. Edmiston was born February 2, 1930, in Pampa, Texas, to the late Claude Franklin Edmiston and Erma Hammons Edmiston. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and was the backbone of any church he attended. Mr. Edmiston was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed working on cars and raising a garden. Mr. Edmiston worked with Texas Gas Pipeline for 43 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and the Korean War. Mr. Edmiston loved his family and his church family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edmiston is preceded in death by his wife - Inez Hanks Edmiston, and brother- Harlon Ray Edmiston.
Mr. Edmiston is survived by his sons- Bobby (Ruth) Edmiston, and Jack Edmiston; grandchildren- Bo (Tori) Edmiston, and Josh (Haley) Edmiston; great-grandchildren- Brayden Edmiston, Callie Edmiston, Pierce Edmiston, Linc Edmiston, and Ollie Edmiston; and sister- Bonnie Sue Edmiston (Larry) Brakefield.
Pallbearers will be Bo Edmiston, Josh Edmiston, Brayden Edmiston, Lee Gillis, Gabe Long, and Rowe Gillis. Honorary Pallbearer will be Joe Hollowell.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Medical Staff at Baptist Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care.
