Billy Ray Gann, 82, of Columbus, MS passed away at his residence, Thursday, November 30, 2017.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 2:00 PM with Bro. Ken Henniger officiating. Interment will be at Beersheba Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Gann was born June 1, 1935, in Tremont, MS to the Late H.O. Gann and Eunice (Garrison) Gann. He was a veteran of the US Army serving overseas and stateside for many years before discharging and moving to Columbus to work at General Tire (Omnova) where he retired in 1993. Mr. Gann enjoyed food, friends and Alabama football. He loved to travel both local and abroad. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gann was preceded in death by his wife- Sue Gault Gann, two brothers, and two sisters.

Mr. Gann is survived by his son- Travis (Ann) Gann of Columbus, MS; daughters- Paula (Mark) Walls of Columbus, MS, and Sharon Vinson of Jasper, AL; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a special friend Faye Palmer; sisters- Ann (Steve) Holcomb of Jasper, AL, and Ruby Doris Fester of Fayette, AL; and brothers- Charles (Linda) Gann of Fayette, AL, and Cecil Gann of Coker, AL.

Pallbearers will be Chris Gann, Michael Walls, Jason Robinson, Roy Gann, Vince Perkins, and Vance Perkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy and Donna Beatty, Becky Towsley, Billy and Phyllis Wood, Arky and Dot Beal, Jimmy and Nina Pannel, Eloise Pannel, Walt Mosley, Joe Dillon, John Matthews, John and Mabel Adams, Lawnell and Betsy Hallman, Glenda Rhea, John Lacy, Jimmy Busby, Martha Nabors, and Plowboy and wife.
