Billy Dean Lee, 85, of Caledonia, MS passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.

Visitation will be Monday, May 1, 2017, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral will follow at 7:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Smith officiating.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 6, 2017, from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM with a funeral at 11:00 AM at Barron Funeral Home in Chester, SC. Interment with military honors will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, SC with Barron Funeral Home, Chester, SC directing.

Mr. Lee was born May 27, 1931, in Pacolet Mills, SC to the late Shaddie Franklin and Nannie Elizabeth Millwood Lee. He enjoyed spending time with his family, served in the U.S. Marines, Army and Air Force during Vietnam and the Korean War as a paratrooper and retired after 21 years of service. Mr. Lee worked for civil service at Columbus Air Force Base for 21 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his brothers – David Lee, Elbert Lee, Buddy Lee and Doug Millwood; sister – Lola Dover; grandson – Brian Yearby.

Mr. Lee is survived by his son – Roger (Lisa) Lee of Wellington, KS; step son – Jimmy Fowler of Amory, MS; step daughter – Sheree Payne Lee Bevering of Columbus, MS; grandchildren – Sarah Lee, Jonathan Lee, Abigail Lee, Rachel Lee, Christopher Yearby, Amy Yearby; brother – Harry Lee; a host of beloved nieces and nephews; and a longtime companion – Joyce Keifer.
