Robert "BJ" Nelson Wegener, Jr. 69 of Columbus, MS passed away, Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his residence. Visitation for Mr. Wegener will be Sunday, May 25, 2014 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ed Nix officiating. Mr. Wegener was born May 4, 1945 to the late Robert Nelson & Maxine Vaughn Wegener, Sr in Warrensburg, MO. He was a member of New Covenant Baptist Church, Columbus, MS, Cowboys for Christ and a Mason. Mr. Wegener was co-founder of The Mississippi Professional Arborist Assn. He retired from Turner Industries where he worked as an electrician. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wegener was preceded in death his sister Cindy Cook. Mr. Wegener is survived by his wife of 31 years - Carole Cline Wegener, Columbus, MS; daughters - Audrey Allen, Columbus, MS, DeEtte Westover, Idaho, Vickie (Gary) Kinard, Columbus, MS, Wende (Sam) Borgen, Warrensburg, MO, Robin (Greg) Harris, Columbus, MS, Bobbie (Don) Campbell, Spokane, WA; sons - Todd (Rachal) Wegener, Versailes, MO and Justin (Daphne) Westover, Columbus, MS; brother - Dan Wegener, Versailes, MO; 17 grandchildren - Dawn Baswell, Chris Sand, Kyle Coleman, Cody Coleman, Wesley Kinard, Chris Kinard, Jalisa Boothe, Preston Kinard, Shannon Holbrook, Faith Wegener, Zachary Wegener, Brandon Westover, Heath Westover, Trey Wegener, Cloe Borgen, Collin and Brooke Campbell; 12 great-grandchildren - Ashley, Courtney, Lauren, Sara and Brian Baswell, Jaden Allen, Kailyn Sand, Marlie, Landon and Carrie Kinard, Lexie Anderson, Marissa and Kasen Boothe. Pallbearers will be Chris Sand, Kyle Coleman, Cody Coleman, Brandon Westover, Heath Westover, Preston Kinard, Wesley Kinard, Chris Kinard and Zachary Wegener.
