Bobby Wayne Halverson, 74, of Columbus, MS, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, at his residence.

Visitation will be on August 12, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  Funeral services will be Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 1:00 PM in Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be at Center Hill Baptist Church, Hamilton, MS.

Mr. Halverson was born February 18, 1948, in Memphis, TN to the late Mary Elizabeth Kennedy Newell and Elden Halverson. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Columbus, MS.  In addition to being a veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Halverson was an expert marksman.  He was a dog whisper and specialized in training dogs.  Spending time outdoors and being with family and friends were his favorite things.

He is survived by daughters – Carolyn Ford, Sherrie Halverson, and Carrie Stevens; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and brothers – Jimmy Halverson and Ronnie Bracknell.

Pallbearers will be Tres Peacock, Nicholas Creedon, Tanner Griffin, Ransom Ford, Malachi Ford, and Rook Rooker.
