Bonnie Irene Smith, 84 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, December 25, 2020, at her residence.

No services are scheduled at this time.  Lowndes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith was born December 23, 1936, in Sudith, KY to the late Elmer and Bethel Morton.  She was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church.  Mrs. Smith was a business owner and owned Bonnie's Flower Garden.  She also worked for an EMT service while she was living in Oregon.  Mrs. Smith loved her church and loved to square dance.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her son – James Curtis McDowell; 2 grandchildren, and 5 brothers.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband – Thomas R. Smith, Columbus, MS; daughters – Lynne Lindsey, Geneva (Antonio) Velasquez, and Melanie Trahan; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister – Sherry Marcum and brother – Jack Morton.
