Obituary

Boyd Arnold "Rusty" Cook, 71 of Columbus, MS passed away, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Mississippi State Veterans Home, Kosciusko, MS. Visitation for Mr. Cook will be Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS a memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Josh Daffron officiating. Mr. Cook was born January 18, 1942 in Stockton, CA to the late Arnold Jesse Cook and Dorothy "Duffy" Mock Dilworth. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired in 2008 as a Crane operator/Iron Worker with Industrial Fabricators. Mr. Cook attended Mt. Vernon Church, Columbus, MS and was a lifelong member of the VFW Post #4272, Columbus, MS. He loved camping, fishing, feeding hummingbirds and wild birds. Mr. Cook enjoyed go-cart racing, shooting pool and watching Nascar racing. Mr. Cook is survived by his wife – Cherry W. Cook, Columbus, MS, step-son – Richard (Pamela) Bohon, Columbus, MS, brother – Chris (Susan) Singleton, Woodstock, IL, Tom Dilworth, Memphis, TN, brother-in-law – Buddy (Barbara) Williamson, Columbus, MS, Steve (Judy) Williamson, Columbus, MS, sister-in- law – Roma Williamson, Columbus, MS, Ann Waggoner, Freetown, IN, granddaughters – Tiffany and Savannah Bohon, symbolic adopted children – Tracy Hughes House and Ben Hughes, and faithful dog – Thunder.
