Brenda Caroline Johnson, age 64, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at UAB Birmingham, AL.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at First Pentecostal Church, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at 10:00 AM with Bro. Ricky James officiating. Interment will be in Furance Hill Cemetery, Vernon, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Johnson was born on May 22, 1953, in Mississippi to the late Willie Lawrence and Etta Maxine Walker Barham. She was the first female security officer at the Mississippi University for Woman. Mrs. Johnson also worked at the Sylvan's factory, West Point, MS and later she worked as a sitter with the elderly. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters- Margie Diane Slay, Ellen Kay Condra, and Mary Evelyn Foster, and her brothers- John Edward Barham, Charles Ronald Barham, and William Lawrence Barham.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son- John (Jennifer) Johnson of Ethelsville, AL; grandchildren- Sabrina (John) Beeson of Shuqualak, MS and John Johnson, IV of Ethelsville, AL; sisters- Betty Joyce (James) Godfrey of Columbus, MS, Patia (Ricky) James of Florence, MS, and Cynthia (Skip) McLaughlin of Columbus, MS.
