Brenda Gail Stewart Brenda Gail Stewart, 61 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Stewart will be Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM at Community Baptist Church, Columbus, MS.A Memorial Service will follow at 6:30 PM with Bro. Wes Jones officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Interment will be in Rosehill Burial Park, Hamilton, OH. Mrs. Stewart was born June 22, 1950 to the late Deward and Lorene Stephens Whitaker in Mt. Vernon, KY. She moved to Columbus 13 years ago from Tustin, CA, attended Community Baptist Church, Columbus, MS, enjoyed gardening, being outdoors hunting, fishing, shooting and camping. Family was the most important thing to Mrs. Stewart. She retired in 2011 from Logista in Human Resources after 13 years of service. In addition to her parents Mrs. Stewart is preceded in death by her brother Deward Edward "Eddie" Whitaker. Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband Paul Norman Stewart, Son – Eric (Nicole) Stewart, Melbourne, FL, Daughter – Christie Richardson, Palm Bay, FL, Sisters – Rita McCown, Mt. Vernon, KY; Diana Sands, Summerside, OH; Wanda Hatter, North Port, FL; Vickie Brown, Lockland, OH; Grandchildren – Ashley Stewart Sousa, Amanda Campbell, Ashley Stewart, Lillie Stewart, Dustin Myles and Shawney Myles. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ron Harper, Rita McCown, Diana Sands, Wanda Hatter, Vickie Brown, Hubert & Cora Mae Perkins.
