Carmen Denton, 93, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, March 22, 2021, at her residence.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.

Mrs. Denton was born on November 17, 1927, to the late Anna Carmen San Miguel Garland and Ernest Garland. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church. Mrs. Denton was an avid gardener and loved planting flowers. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Denton is preceded in death by her husband-George Edward Denton, Sr.

Mrs. Denton is survived by her Children- Tom Denton of Columbus, MS, Ann (Darrel) Carter of Columbus, MS, June (Roger) Dupuy of Columbus, MS, Shirley (Dusty) Short of Tupelo, MS, Prentice (Karen) Denton of Columbus, MS, George (Sandy) Denton of Columbus, MS, Ernest (Shelia) Denton of Carrolton, GA, and Milton (Amie) Denton of Maumelle, AR; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
