Carol Anne West, 74 of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

A family funeral service will be Friday, June 5, 2020, at 11:00 in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel.  Friends may view the service live online at www.lowndesfuneralhome.net . Interment will be at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS.

Mrs. West was born May 8, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Sidney Walter and Norma Irene May Poer Johnson.  She retired from the Columbus Municipal School District as a bus driver after 35 years of service.  Mrs. West attended New Covenant Ministry.  She was an avid diet Coke drinker, enjoyed playing BINGO, going on cruises, and scrolling through Facebook.  She loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. West was preceded in death by her sister – Glenda Jackson.

Mrs. West is survived by her husband – Roger West, Columbus, MS; daughters – Brenda (Richie) Wilson, Debbie (Greg) Benefield, Leann (Billy) Simpson, and Darla (Eddie)  Estes; son – Roger West; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother – Wilburn Johnson and sister – Jeannie Richards.

Honorary pallbearers will be Phyllis Porter, Jean Taylor, Kelsie Dixon, Frances Jones, Kay Holland, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
