Carolyn Gail Smith

Mrs. Carolyn Gail Smith, 79, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Trinity Health Care in Columbus, MS.

Service will be held at a later date. Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS entrusted with all arrangements.

Mrs. Smith was born March 5, 1946, in Stuttgart, AR to the late Jim Vance and Louise Kinder Mordecai. She taught school for over 20 years and retired at the Montessori School. Mrs. Smith was affectionately known as GG. She enjoyed going to casinos, doing jigsaw puzzles, watching the Andy Griffith Show, and loved her dog, George. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Charles K. Smith, daughter, Jan Smith, sister, Lana Vance, and brother, Timmy Vance.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons- Jon Smith, Jimmy Smith, and Joey Smith, grandchildren- Julia (Jade) Soignoli, Cody Smith, Josh Smith, Jerimiah (Jennifer)  Walker, and Randi (Terrance)i Toi Neal; great grandchildren- Christian Walker, Caleb Walker, Kyndal Belle Walker, Kiya Neal, Kaliya Neal, Keariah Neal; brothers- Leslie (Brenda) Vance and Billy Vance.
