Carrie Bess Toalson, 64 of Caledonia, MS passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011 at her residence. Visitation was held Friday, September 23, 2011 from 1 PM – 2 PM at Caledonia United Pentecostal Church, Caledonia, MS. Funeral Services were held Friday, September 23, 2011 at 2 PM at Caledonia United Pentecostal Church with Bro. Grant Mitchell officiating. Interment was in Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Toalson was born Febraury 22, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to the late Glenn Calvin and Martha Durr Toalson. She was a resident of the Lowndes Co. area for the past eleven years having moved from St. Louis, MO. Mrs. Toalson was a member of Caledonia United Pentecostal Church, Caledonia, MS, a Sunday school teacher, former mission director and was extremely active in her church. She was a musician and played any bowed string instrument. Mrs. Toalson enjoyed reading and volunteered at the Lowndes Co. Public Library, She had a passion and love for the disabled. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Sherry Ann Schwidde. Mrs. Toalson is survived by her brother , J. P. (Peggy) Toalson, St. Louis, MO; nieces, Debra Ann Simon, Gina Kay Steffen; nephews, Steven Dale Schwidde, Jacob Scott Toalson, Zachary David Pressey and a host of great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Dale Reese, Jacob Toalson and men of the Caledonia United Pentecostal Church. Honorary pallbearers were Betty White, Alana Karp, the late Stephen Reese, Steve Schwidde, Evan Karp, Daniel Karp, Dale Massey, Jack Schamel, Debra Simon and Susan Reese.
