Catherine Burgin Catherine Burgin, 84, of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at North Mississippi Medical Center, West Point, MS. Funeral Service will be Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gene Henderson officiating and Bro. Sammy Crawford assisting. Interment will be in Mayhew Cemetery Mayhew, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Burgin was born April 12, 1927 to the late Joseph Lynn Williams and Elizabeth Cork Williams in Starkville, MS. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed hunting and arts and crafts. Mrs. Burgin was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS, and was a member of the Fidelus Sunday school class. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burgin is preceded in death by her husband – William G. "Bill" Burgin, Jr. son- William H. Harrison, daughter – Susan Rutledge, brother – J.L. Williams, and sister– Mary Jewel Alexander. Mrs. Burgin is survived by her sons: Ronny (Pam) Harrison, Columbus, MS, Bob (Peggy) Burgin, Floyd, VA, Bill (Terry) Burgin III, Raleigh, NC, and daughter: Helen (Eric) Jamison, Cleveland, OH, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Lance Harrison, Frank Loftis, Steve West, Larry Duke, Allen Middleton, Tony Smith, and Bobby Patrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Garner, Pat McCarty, Members of the Fidelus Sunday school class, Dr. Edward Miller, Roger Williams, the staff of Trinity Healthcare, and Cheri Smith.
