Cecil L. Peacock, age 71, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Sanctuary Hospice, Tupelo, MS.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow on Friday, July 13, 2018, at 11:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Coleman officiating. Interment will be in Murrah's Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Peacock was born on January 29, 1947, in Choctaw County, MS to the late Ealy George and Louise Woods Peacock. He was a member of Murrah's Chapel Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Mr. Peacock worked for Columbus Light & Water for 40 years before retiring in 2002. He loved his wife very much, as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Peacock enjoyed mowing the yard and always put others first, he was very caring. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother- Gerald Peacock; sisters- Frances Dorroh, Margie Fason, and Lazell Green; and one granddaughter- Stephanie Price.

Mr. Peacock was survived by his loving wife- Betty Strickland Peacock of Columbus, MS; sons- Cecil Lamar (Stacie) Peacock, Jr., of Vernon, AL and Charles Joseph Peacock of Columbus, MS; daughters- Tammy Peacock (Kelley) Price and Maria Ealy Jaye Peacock (Rick) Pitts both of Columbus, MS; grandchildren- Cecil Lamar (Deanna) Peacock III, Chais Knight Samantha Bryant, Dylan Peacock, Seth Peacock, Lauren Price (Justin) House, Erika Peacock, Bethany Hasty, Nick Pitts, Madison Pitts, Leslie Conwill, Justin Conwill, Hannah (Austin) Dobbins, and Billy Holley; great-grandchildren- Alyssa Putnam, Colton Putnam, Aria Peacock, Addie Peacock, Luke Knight, and Orry Dobbins; sisters- Janice Peacock of Columbus, MS and Barbara Handley of Steens, MS; and brother- George (Joanne) Peacock of Caledonia, MS.

Pallbearers will be Rodger Green, Chris Handley, Matt Peacock, Dylan Peacock, Seth Peacock, and Tre's Peacock. Honorary pallbearers will be Kelley Price, Rick Pitts, Scott Graves, Dean Goodman, Dr. Brett Brown, Staff of Sanctuary Hospice, and Former and Current Employees of Columbus Light & Water.
