Charles Leroy Divel, 64, of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, July 01, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 2, 2016, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 4:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Avery officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Divel was born November 13, 1951, to the late Ellis and Helen Ramsey McMillian Divel in Aberdeen, MD.  He has lived in the area for about 35 years. Mr. Divel worked as a truck driver for Riverside Trucking for 9 years, and he served in the U. S. Army. He was a past member of the VFW and American Legion. Mr. Divel enjoyed reading not only books but his Bible as well, and he loved fishing.

Mr. Divel is survived by his wife-Carol Divel, Columbus, MS; son-Chuck Divel, Columbus, MS; daughters-Katy (Eddie) Holliday, Columbus, MS and Cindy Wright, Columbus, MS; sister-Velma Richardson, Reform, AL; brother-Joe Tygart, West Point, MS; grandchildren-Jessica Holliday and Justin Holliday.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Holliday, Bobby Helton, Ray Winders, Joe Tygart, Jep Cole and Leslie Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Employees of Riverside Trucking.
