Charles "Butch" Eugene Alvey, 81, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Windsor Place, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 7, 2017, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 7, 2017, at 2:30 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Bro. David Honeycutt officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Alvey was born November 20, 1935, to the late Mathias Elmer and Harriett Ann Montgomery Alvey in Owensboro, KY. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force for 9 years and then went into the Army National Guard as a Sargent for 11 years. He also worked as a carpenter for several years. In addition to Mr. Alvey's parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Doyle Alvey, and sister Barbara Ann Thomas.

Mr. Alvey is survived by his sons- Ron Alvey and Jeffrey Alvey both of Columbus, MS; sisters- Mary Thomas and Bertha Shelton; brothers- Frank Alvey, Joe Alvey and Thomas Alvey.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Doyle, Tony Doyle, Chad Williamson, David Oglesby, Colby Doyle.
