Charles Ray Harper, 79, of Mathiston, MS passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Oxford.

Mr. Harper was born December 12, 1947, in Starkville, MS to the late Lucille Fulgham Harper and Charles James Harper. Mr. Harper was in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star. On June 11, 1988 Mr. Harper married the love of his life Janine Thornton. Mr. Harper loved his children and grandchildren, enjoyed antiquing and arrow head hunting. He was a Science teacher at JC George in Carrolton, MS for many years.

Mr. Harper is survived by his wife-Janine Thornton Harper of Mathiston, MS; daughters- Karen (Roger) Jans, and Shannon Harper; son- Charles (Carmen) Harper; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
