Charles Garland Holyfield,83, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, August 12, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT.

Visitation will be Friday, August 16, 2019, from 10-11 AM at First Assembly of God with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM with Rev. Bobby Holyfield officiating and Rev. Rick Price and Rev. Robert Davis assisting. Interment will be in Kilmichael at 2:30 PM with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Holyfield was born February 9, 1936, in Backwell, AR to the late Jeanie Hillis Holyfield and Garland Holyfield. He served in the Navy from 1956-1960. Mr. Holyfield retired from Ford Motor Company in Chicago, IL after 30 years of employment. In 1978 he started preaching and teaching the gospel with his wife alongside him and loved preaching and singing with his three children. During his ministry, Mr. Holyfield started Abundant Life Church in Caledonia, MS, where he later retired in 2009. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holyfield is preceded in death by his two sisters- Lois Price and Norma Jean Holyfield and one infant brother.

Mr. Holyfield is survived by his wife Peggy Stobaugh Holyfield, Columbus, MS; son- Wayne (Kim) Holyfield; daughters-Rhnea (Tommy) Vaughn and Pamela Davis; grandchildren- Clint Holyfield, Amanda Cheese, Raquel Guyse, Gabriel Rubio, Joshua Volk, Bailey Finch and Grace; great-grandchildren-Asher Holyfield, Adison Holyfield, Aticus Holyfield, Jaxson Cheese, Presley Cheese, Landon Cheese, Simeon Guyse, Nathan Guyse, Lydia Guyse, Nora Kate Rubio, Isaiah Volk, Josiah Volk, Elsie Volk, Aubrie Anna Finch, and Wyatt Charles Davis; and brother- Rev. Bobby Carl (Betty) Holyfield.

Pallbearers will be Clint Holyfield, Joshua Volk, Caleb Davis, Malichi Davis, Michael Guyse, Adam Rubio, Michael Finch, and Julian Cheese.
