Charles William Gustavsen, Jr. 80, of Caledonia, MS, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022, at his residence.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A memorial service will follow in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Childs officiating.

Mr. Gustavsen was born September 15, 1941, in Cape May, NJ to the late Mary Emma Snyder and Charles William Gustavsen. He was a member of Caledonia Church of Christ, Caledonia, MS, an avid fisherman, and an LSU Tiger fan. Mr. Gustavsen retired as an SMSGT from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. During his military career, he served in Vietnam, on the Armed Forces Presidential Unit, and received a Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal along with many other medals and awards. He retired after 20 plus years as the branch manager for Thompson Machinery. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother- Harry Gustavsen.

Mr. Gustavsen is survived by his wife- Jerry Davis Gustavsen; sons- Bryan Gustavsen, Donny (Elizabeth) Gustavsen both of Caledonia, MS; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters- Marge Izbicki, Selma Colonis.
