Obituary

Charles "Pat" Kilpatrick Retired Senior Master Sergeant Charles MacDonald Kilpatrick, 79 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be September 10, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Reimann Family Funeral Home, Biloxi, MS. A graveside service with military honors will be September 10, 2014 at 2:30 PM in Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Kilpatrick was born January 18, 1935 to the late Jackson and Lena Almond Kilpatrick in Sylva, NC. He attended the Culinary Arts Institute, San Antonio, TX, the first First Sergeants Academy at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, AL and taught ROTC for 4 years at the University of Tennessee. Mr. Kilpatrick served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam and Korean Wars and was stationed all over the world. Mr. Kilpatrick retired after 28 years of service to the Air Force. After retirement he was a Club Manager at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernadino, CA. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge, loved to read, watch football and the New Orleans Saints. His favorite place to visit was Morro Bay, CA and those that knew him know he loved to celebrate life. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kilpatrick was preceded in death by his sister - Juanita Minutello, brothers - William Kilpatrick and Grover Kilpatrick. Mr. Kilpatrick is survived by his wife of 57 years - Delma "Del" Kyzer Kilpatrick, Columbus, MS; daughter - Linda G Kilpatrick, Biloxi, MS; sons - Robert J. (Elizabeth) Kilpatrick, Diamondhead, MS and Shawn M. (Julie) Kilpatrick, Yucca Valley, Ca; brothers - Paul Kilpatrick, Asheville, NC and Hadley Kilpatrick, Ann Arbor, MI; grandchildren - Melissa Kilpatrick, Kristen Kilpatrick, Kelly Kilpatrick, Charlene Kilpatrick-Smith, Austin Kilpatrick and Rhianon Banks; great-grandchildren - Foster Smith and Kairie Kilpatrick.
