Charles Ervin Nickoles, 72 of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Frank Ward officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Nickoles was born August 11, 1941 to the late Ervin & Rosielee Langford Nickoles in Columbus, MS. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a truck driver for 30 years. In addition to his parents Mr. Nickoles was preceded in death by his sisters - Ozell Shelton Cook, Betty Lou Edwards and brother - Billy Ray Nickoles. Mr. Nickoles is survived by his daughter - Kathleen Nickoles, Longview, TX, son - Bobby Ervin Nickoles, Longview, TX, sister - Mary Francis Thomas, Columbus, MS, brothers - David Phelps, Caledonia, MS, Kenneth Phelps, Columbus, MS, John Wayne Grammar, Columbus, MS, Bobby Nickoles, Amory, MS and Donnie Joe Grammar, Columbus, MS, grandchildren - Christopher Nickoles, Jeremy Nickoles and Kayla Nelson and 3 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Phelps, Joey Grammar, John Wayne Grammar, Jr., Paul Cook, Paul Cook, Jr. Howard Cook, Danny Nickoles and Shawn Cook.
