Charles "Hoot" Everette White, 78, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019, at his residence.

Visitation will be Friday, December 27, 2019, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Ethelsville, AL. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Bro. Jim Godwin officiating. Interment will be in Tabernacle cemetery, Ethelsville, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. White was born Apri 22, 1941 in Clay County, MS to the late Armarie Carroll and Theo White. Mr. White married the love of his life, Elizabeth Marie Long White, on December 19, 1974, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Columbus, MS. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Ethelsville, AL, he played guitar and sang for the Lord. Mr. White was a master of wood craftsman and he loved spending time with his family. He was a Veteran in the United States Air Force and he worked at Glenn Machine Works as a shop foreman for 38 years.  In addition to his parents, Mr. White is preceded in death by his daughter- Meredith Hayes.

Mr. White is survived by his wife of 45 years-Elizabeth Marie Long White of Columbus, MS; son-Shane (Donna) White of Prattville, AL; daughters-Sallie (Danny) Shaw of Millport, AL and Susie (Corey) Hudgens of Millport, AL; step-daughters- Laurie Stockman and Tricia (Roy) Hyatt; grandchildren- Kyle White, Kayla White, Hunter Shaw, Walker (Anna) Shaw, Katie (Chase) Austin, Houston Shaw, Tucker Shaw, Khloe Shaw, Swazie Shaw, Anna Hudgens, Javi Hudgens, Jace Hudgens, Mitchell (Tiffany) Stockman, Matthew Stockman, Dalton Stockman, Nathan Cox, Lindsey Cox, JR Morgan, and Chance Costa; great-grandchildren-Harper Shaw,  River Austin, Raylee Shaw, Isabella Morgan, Emily Stockman, Linlee Stockman, and Ellie Stockman; brother- Ernest (Rebecca) White of West Point, MS; and son-in-law- Jack Hayes.

Pallbearers will be Mr. White's grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the present and former employees of Glenn Machine Works.
