Charlie Eugene Beatty, 78 of Columbus, MS passed away, Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Windsor Place, Columbus, MS. Visitation for Mr. Beatty will be Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A memorial service will be at a scheduled at a later date. Mr. Beatty was born August 20, 1935 to the late Gunter and Rozell Glenn Beatty in Columbus, MS. He was a member of Pinehaven Baptist Church, Columbus, MS and the Mississippi National Guard. Mr. Beatty was the owner of MidSouth Fireworks for 50 years and flew Southern Airways for 20 years during the 60's and 70's. He enjoyed making explosives, visiting with his old classmates, drinking coffee at the Huddle House and Bullets and collecting novelty items. Mr. Beatty is survived by his daughter - Angie Beatty, Columbus, MS. Honorary pallbearers will be special friends and business associates.
