Cherri Denise Shaw, 58, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020, at Windsor Place.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 12, 2020, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel with Bro. Melvin Mordecai officiating and Elder Harold Weeks, Sr. assisting. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Shaw was born September 14, 1961, in Tuscaloosa, AL to the late Martin Ellis and  Earnesteen Nickoles Ellis Butler.  Mrs. Shaw was a member of First Christian Church. She enjoyed shopping, reading, watching the news and keeping up with politics. Mrs. Shaw dedicated herself to her profession in nursing. She enjoyed spending time with family and her grandchildren. She is going to be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shaw is preceded in death by her stepdad- J. Calvin Butler and sister- Diane Skinner.

Mrs. Shaw is survived by her daughter- Chasity (Brett) Burkhalter of Columbus, MS; grandchildren-Kyle Burkhalter and Cheyenne Burkhalter; brother- Wayne (Mott) Ellis of Columbus, MS; sister- Carol (Dewayne) Upton of Columbus, MS.

Pallbearers will be John Dale, Carey Upton, Larry Melton, Eddie Shaw, Kevin Styron, and Ellis Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Weeks, Sr., Tim Ward,  Jeff Sullivan, Raymond Bell, Dr. Christina Collins, Dr. John King, Dr. Cameron Huxford, and deacons and elders at First Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
