Cheryl Wright Edwards, 61, of Columbus, MS passed away, after her long battle with cancer, Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Sanctuary Hospice, Tupelo, MS.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 1:00 PM at Salem Baptist Church, Toomsuba, MS. Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Edwards was born January 17, 1955, to Gerald Wayne Wright, Sr. and the late Clara Jeanette Johnson Wright in Meridian, MS.  She moved to Columbus, MS from Mendenhall, MS. Mrs. Edwards was a telephone operator for South Central Bell for 19 years; and she was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Mendenhall, MS. In her spare time, Mrs. Wright enjoyed shopping at antique shops, reading, and especially playing with her grandson. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband-John William Edwards.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her father-Gerald Wayne Wright, Sr; son-Jonathan Wright (Tara) Edwards; sister-Sandra Wright (Sam) Suggs; brothers-Gerald Wayne (Pat) Wright, Jr. and Don Reid (Terri) Wright; and grandchild-Breck William Edwards.
