Cheryl Gillis, 53 of West Point, MS passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her residence. Visitation will be Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 2-3PM at Episcopal Church of The Good Shepherd, Columbus, MS. A Memorial Service will follow at 3 PM with the Rev. Sandra DePriest officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Gillis was born August 9, 1959 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Charles and Catherine Dean Taylor. She was a self-employed Consultant in Legal and Accounting Business. Mrs. Gillis was a member of First United Methodist Church, Columbus, MS. She enjoyed photography, horses, Tom Foolery, quilting, writing, walking the beach and being outside close to nature. Mrs. Gillis is survived by her husband-John T. Gillis, West Point, MS; daughter- Bonnie Gillis (Geoff) Topping, Slydell, LA and brother-Ed Taylor, Jacksonville, FL.
