Chester "Rick" Richard Love
Rick Love, 72, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, March 1, 2021, at his residence.
Rick was born in Cincinnati, Ohio as was the eldest son of Chester C. and L. Mae (Laytart) Love. He spent his youth in the beauty of southwestern Ohio. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and his only daughter-Jacquelyn Rene Love. He missed them dearly for the rest of his life.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 28 years- Avelina (Aveth) Love of Columbus, MS; his sons- Joshua Richard Love of Goshen, OH, and Jason Ray Love of Columbus, OH, his favorite brother- Christopher Zane Love of Crestview, FL, and his favorite sisters- Pamela Jane Butler of Amelia, OH, Terril Christina Dawson of Denver, CO, Delanea Mae Mackey of NC, Cynthia Marie Love of Crestview, FL; favorite grand-daughter- Alexa Kaitlyn Love of OH; and favorite grandson- Joseph Lee Mueller of Goshen, OH. He loved and enjoyed all of his in-laws and visited them as often as possible.
Rick graduated from Blanchester, OH in June of 1966 and joined the United States Air Force n August of 1966. He retired from the USAF in November of 1987 and went on to work the next 23 years for major defense contractors. Over his many working years, he lived in California (3 different times), Viet Nam, Ohio, Arizona, Nebraska (twice), Germany, South Dakota, and Mississippi before he retired in Mississippi in October of 2010. No matter where he lived and worked; he always enjoyed the area, the food, and the people around him.
He loved his God, his country, his children, his wife, his family, and his extended family. He thoroughly enjoyed many years of motorcycling with his ridin' buds on many trips across this great county of ours. In 2014, he purchased a 1948 Ford Tudor Sedan Street Rod much like his 1 st car (1947 Ford Tudor Sedan) that he bought in high school in 1964. He always enjoyed driving around with his "trophy bride" Aveth by his side. They attended many car shows together and enjoyed other trips in his street rod.
His favorite saying was "So long as I wake up in the morning, the day has a good start".
