Cynthia "Cindy" Diane Jaynes Wingo, 65, died at her residence in New Hope, MS.

The visitation will be Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.

Cindy was born September 14, 1959, in Columbus, MS to the late Carl E. Jaynes and Murle Wheeler Jaynes of Columbus, MS.

Cindy was a graduate of Caldwell High School, followed by Mississippi University for Women, where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Throughout her career, Cindy worked at Palmer Home For Children, United Way of Lowndes County, Raytheon Aerospace, and DynCorp International. She frequently volunteered for the Columbus Arts Council and other area events and loved meeting new friends. She was passionate about the arts, specifically, music and painting, and she loved the beach.

Cindy was strong-willed and always a bit of a rebel. She lived as a free spirit and enjoyed experiencing the joys of the world. She loved fiercely, empathetically, and wholeheartedly. Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren and she ensured everyone knew it. She also held a special place in her heart for the two men who meant the most to her growing up; her father and her brother.

She is survived by her children, Lauren W. Vest of Columbus, MS, Lindsay D. Wells (Jimmy) of Schönaich, Germany, and Hunter Wingo of Corinth, TX, her grandchildren: Bella Vest, Sophia Wells and Austin Wells; her brother, Dr. Jeff Jaynes of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and her niece, Mary Margaret Jaynes of Dallas, TX.

While we grapple with the loss of her physical presence, we find solace in knowing that her spirit lives on in the love and strength she instilled in us.
