Clara Walker Purden, 78, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Aurora Health and Rehabilitation, Columbus, MS.

A memorial visitation will be Monday, January 30, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.

Mrs. Purden was born September 1, 1938 to the late Albert and Rose Lokey Walker in Augusta, GA. She has lived in the area for the past 40 years having moved from South Carolina. Mrs. Purden attended the Calvary Assembly of God in Columbus, MS. She enjoyed playing with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, and flowers. She was employed at Omnova Solutions in Columbus, MS as a Kitchen attendant.

Mrs. Purden is survived by her son- Albert Purden of Columbus, MS; grandchildren- Amy Purden and Cricket Harrison; great-grandchildren- Olivia, Tristen, and Bella; sisters- Patricia Greenwood of Columbus, MS and Elizabeth Stone of Batesville, MS.
