Clyde McElrath,78, of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at his residence.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 1-2 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Memorial service will be at 2 PM with Bro. Ralph Windle officiating and Bro. Steve Lammons assisting. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. McElrath was born September 15, 1941, in Cleveland, TN to the late Mona Gentry and John Henry McElrath. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mr. McElrath worked at Seminole for many years before going on to working at Shelton Cleaners and moving his way up from general laborer, to the delivery person, then partner to the owner. He was with Shelton for over 40 years. Mr. McElrath loved his dogs Beau and Buttons.

He loved spending time with my family. In addition to his parents, Mr. McElrath is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Mr. McElrath is survived by his wife-Barbara Bryant Tilley McElrath of Columbus, MS; sons- John (Betty) McElrath and Darryl (Janet) McElrath both of Columbus, MS; step-daughters- De'Andra (Rob) Walker, Tanner (Chris) Tate, and Cassie (Vince) Cason; step-son- Mark (Jennifer) Tilley;  grandchildren-Kristen (Durham) Jordan, Evan McElrath, Victorian Tilley, Noah Brock and Tyler Tilley; great-grandchildren- Lucy Ann Jordan and Ella Jordan.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Crane, Pete Peterson, Leon McGarity, Dr. Sumrall, Dr. Rosenblatt, Open Door Sunday Class, Nurses and Staff of TCU-Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, and Baptist Hospice Golden Triangle Team.
